Eleven categories for Dutchess artists and groups

Arts Mid-Hudson is accepting nominations for its 33rd annual Dutchess County Executive’s Arts Awards in 11 categories, including for arts organizations, businesses and corporations, arts in education, individual artists, art in public places, art patrons, special citations, activists, volunteers, the county’s ThinkDIFFERENTLY initiative and students.

Nominations are due by May 13. See tinyurl.com/2019-DC-ArtsAwards or call 845-454-3222 for information. People, businesses, or organizations may not be nominated if they have been honored within the past five years.

Arts Mid-Hudson also announced on April 24 state grants totaling $121,000 given to artists and organizations in Dutchess, Orange and Ulster counties.

The recipients included BeaconArts for Windows on Main and Open Studios, Common Ground Farm, violinist Gwen Laster of Beacon, the Greater Newburgh Symphony Orchestra, the Newburgh Community Land Bank, the Hudson Valley Jazz Festival and Dutchess County artists Hui-Shu C. Jones, Kyaw Naing, Antonella Piemontese and Bradford Shur.
