Jerome H. Allen, age 72, a lifelong Cold Spring area resident, died on August 21, 2010 at the Hudson Valley Hospital Center.
       Born January 21, 1938 in Cold Spring, NY, he was the son of Helen Atkinson Dye of Cold Spring and the late Jerome H. Allen, Sr. Mr. Allen was a retired manager with I.B.M. in East Fishkill, NY. He was a Parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church, a U.S. Army veteran, life member of Cold Spring Fire Company No.1, and a member of the Cold Spring Boat Club.
       He is survived by his wife Frances C. (Landolfi) Allen of the home address. In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by one son, Jerry Allen, and two daughters, Suzanne (Joseph) Giachinta and Janice (Todd) McMasters, all of Cold Spring, NY; two brothers, Walter “Jack” Allen, Gordon Allen, and one sister, Betty Ann Lyons, all of Cold Spring, NY; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild. His faithful dog Eddie also survives.
       A Mass of Christian burial will be offered at 10:00am on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at Our Lady of Loretto Church, 24 Fair St., Cold Spring, NY to which family and friends are invited. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery. At the family’s request there will be no visitation.
       In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Cold Spring Fire Company No.1, 154 Main Street, Cold Spring, NY 10516.

  1. I’m very sorry to hear of Mr. Allen’s passing away. Unfortunately, I heard the news after the funeral.
    I remember Mr. Allen as a jovial, kind GENTLEMAN, and a proud, outstanding citizen of Philipstown.
    My condolences to Mrs. Allen, Jerry Jr., and the rest of the family.
