Putnam County Office on Aging Offers More Computer Help for Seniors

The Putnam County Office for the Aging is offering three workshops, all free of charge, on computers and related technology for seniors in October and November. According to the Office, the subjects and locations of the classes are as follows:

  • Friday, Oct. 15, 12:30 p.m., William Koehler Senior Center, Route 6, Mahopac — “Skype”: downloading, installing, and using the free Skype program, and buying and installing a webcam.
  • Thursday, Nov. 4, time not yet determined, William Koehler Senior Center, Route 6, Mahopac — “Keeping Track of Your Expenses”: Painlessly and at very little cost track spending, with the help of your computer.  
  • Tuesday, Nov. 16:  “Just Ask Us,” 12:30 — 3:30 p.m., at the Putnam Valley Senior Center, 117 Park Lane, Putnam Valley — Everything you wanted to know about computer-related gadgets, programs, software, etc., but were afraid to ask.

The Office for the Aging also has seats available in the Mahopac Learning Center for the November Introduction to Computers, Word Processing, and Internet classes and the Putnam Valley Center has openings for Picasa, Digital Photography, and a course called “Help, I’m Afraid of My Computer.”
