Pearl C. Tompkins, age 87, a lifelong  resident of Cold Spring and Nelsonville died on Oc. 18, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie, NY. Born in Cold Spring, NY, on March 5, 1923 she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Clara May (Baker) Barger.
       Mrs. Tompkins was a homemaker and a life member of  Cold Spring United Methodist Church in Cold Spring, where she was a member of the United Methodist Women.  In later years she also became a member of the Philipstown Senior Citizens. 
       Survivors include her husband of 68 years, Carlyle W. “Carl” Tompkins. One son William B. (Martha) Tompkins of Scodack, NY; one daughter Karen Donnelly of Highland, NY; ten grandchildren Ian, Neal Campbell, Jay, Karli Mattice, Erich, Karla, Daniel, Gregory, Carl Tompkins and Stacey Johnson; five great grandchildren Gavin, Sadie Campbell, Khalique, Dante Johnson and Logan Morse.
       Friends are invited to call at the Clinton Funeral Home, at 21 Parrott Street, Cold Spring, NY 10516 on Thursday, Oct. 21 from 5 to 8 PM. Services will take place at Cold Spring United Methodist Church, 216 Main Street Cold Spring, NY,, Friday, Oct. 22 at 11 am. The Reverend Margaret Laemmel will officiate. Interment will follow at the Cold Spring Cemetery.
