On Nov. 19, Haldane students donned their coziest pj’s and headed to the Poughkeepsie Barnes & Noble for an evening of story telling, sing-a-longs and a little holiday book buying to benefit the Haldane PTA. This marks the third year that the PTA has partnered with Barnes & Noble for this popular event. Once again, pajama-clad Principal Maggie Davis, Superintendent Mark Villanti and “Coach D” read to the children, while their parents got a
little holiday shopping out of the way.
Philipstown’s own children’s author, Jean Marzollo, creator of the popular I SPY series, among many others, was there to sign copies of her books. This year she was joined by Pat Schories, author and illustrator of the popular Biscuit children’s books. Barnes & Noble donated a portion of the event sales to the Haldane PTA. In addition, coupons were made available for those who were unable to attend.
