Anthony J. Nobile, age 99, of Cold Spring, died on Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at Wingate at Dutchess in Fishkill. Born March 16, 1911 in New York City, he was the son of Alexander and Rose (Trolio) Nobile. Nobile worked as a machinist for IBM in Poughkeepsie, retiring in 1973. An avid Yankees fan and guitarist, he was also a member of Our Lady of Loretto parish in Cold Spring. He was predeceased by his wife, Linda (Cella) Nobile in 2003.
       He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Virginia Nobile, of Nelsonville; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Pete Williams, of Cold Spring; and two grandchildren, Richard and Jeffrey. Along with his wife, he was predeceased by one son, Robert Nobile, a brother, Peter Nobile, and a sister, Anna Traina.
       Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Feb.12 at Clinton Funeral Home, (21 Parrott St, Cold Spring) followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, Feb. 11 from 5-8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Nobile’s name to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, PO Box 5028, Hagerstown, MD, 21741 or www.mskcc.org.
