David Lyons, age 77, a lifelong Cold Spring resident, died Sunday, March 6, 2011, at Hudson Valley Hospital Center in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. Born Feb.26, 1934 in Cold Spring, he was the son of the late Nathanial and Carrie (Conley) Lyons.
       Mr. Lyons was a retired truck driver with Harold Lyons and Sons, Inc. and Joseph Percacciolo and Sons, both of Cold Spring, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Teamsters Union local #445 in Newburgh and member of the Cold Spring United Methodist Church. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.
       He was predeceased by his wife, the late Jacqueline Grace (Linda) Lyons, in 2009. He is survived by three children, April Lyons of Beacon, Charles “Buddy” Lyons of Glenham, N.Y., and Shannon Lyons of Cold Spring; six grandchildren, Sabrina Zeoli, Tiffany and Jonathan Schubin, Jade, Carrie Ann and Carley Lyons; and one great granddaughter, Ava Grace Zeoli. Mr. Lyons was the last surviving of ten children, having been predeceased by seven brothers, Charles Nathan “Widgie” Lyons, Frederick “Fittie” Lyons, Francis “Dick” Lyons, Clarence “Winkie” Lyons, Harold “Pop” Lyons, John “Jack” Lyons, and Wendall Lyons; and two sisters, Harriett “Hattie” Hustis and Gloria “Sissy” Trocheck.
       Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 10, 2011 at the Cold Spring United Methodist Church, 216 Main Street Cold Spring, N.Y. Interment will follow in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Clinton Funeral Home, (21 Parrott St, Cold Spring) on Tuesday, March 8 between 7-9 p.m., and Wednesday, March 9, between 2-4 .m. and 7-9 p.m. Donations in Mr. Lyons’ name may be made to the Cold Spring United Methodist Church.
