Finding a bargain piece of clothing or toy while supporting a local nursery school — what could be more satisfying? Such opportunities await at the St. Philip’s Nursery School White Elephant Sale.  This eagerly anticipated annual event takes place Saturday, April 9, at the St. Philip’s Parish House. The yard sale features gently used toys, children’s furnishings, clothing for men, women, and children, household items, and books. The large children’s toy and clothing section always yields some great finds. It’s also an excellent opportunity to recycle goods within the community. An array of home baked goods and a light lunch will also be available.
Sale hours are 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Early bird entrance is available at 8:30 a.m. for a $5 fee. Everything is priced to move, and really great bargains are available after 12:30 p.m. Items may be donated to the Sale until Friday, April 8 at noon.
Proceeds from the sale help support St. Philip’s Nursery School, a non-profit preschool established by St. Philip’s Church in the Highlands in 1960.  The School currently enrolls 32 children ages 2 1/2 to 5 from Garrison and Cold Spring. For more information, call 845-424-4209.
