Three proud graduates

 George Washington Elementary School in the Lakeland Central School District held its annual DARE graduation on Friday, April 8. Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE), a national program, administered locally, is devoted to preventing drug use by children. Additionally, the program seeks to help students make good choices and decisions. They also learn about peer pressure and how to say “no” to drugs and alcohol. Since December, the students at have participated in the DARE program run by Yorktown Police Officer Rich Finn. All 100 students who participated in the program received diplomas.
