Each year, for the past three years, students in Mr. Chomiak’s Math Applications/Personal Finance course at O’Neill H.S. have participated in the National Financial Capability Challenge. This year is no exception. Amanda Brandais, Wes Krieger, Trevor Torgerson, Scott Heideman, Bryan Scott, Sara Bayse and Lizbeth Lona have been honored by the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Department of Education. They placed in the top 20% out of over 84,000 students nationwide. President Obama has declared April “Personal Finance Awareness Month.”
