The Town of Philipstown will hold its Spring clean-up day on Saturday, May 14 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Garrison Firehouse on Rte 9. The clean-up is sponsored by the Hudson Highlands Land Trust and is open to Philipstown residents only and will be limited to two trips. The Town asks residents to abide by the following rules.

  • Driver’s License, tax bill or other proof of residency must be presented
  • No vehicles larger than a pick-up truck allowed
  • No regular bags of household garbage
  • No 55-gallown drums, propane tanks, batteries or any other toxic materials
  • No construction contractors
  • No construction materials (sheetrock or wood will be accepted)
  • No items containing Freon will be accepted
  • No white goods (washing machines, stoves, dishwashers, etc.) White goods may be taken to the Town Recycling Center on Lane Gate Road
  • No railroad ties
  • Brush and wood must be tied into lengths no longer than 5 feet
  • No paint cans
  • Metal will be accepted
  • No computer monitors or electronics. They may be taken to the Town Recycling Center
  • Tires for cars and pickup trucks only (not to exceed 16″)
