St Jude Children’s research hospital a winner too

Cold Spring’s Jaymark Jewelers tied together a Mother’s Day design competition with a fundraiser for the St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and celebrating both during one of their busiest times of the year: the day before Mother’s Day. Many entries were submitted for the design competition. The selected design was rendered by Jaymark’s James Matero, who then handed it to his father, Jim Matero who created the piece then and there.  The winning design, by Annadaliah Guarino (who attended with her mother, Catherine) was a pendant called Flower of Love.  The pendant was crafted in white gold with a coral rose producing a flower that will bloom forever. The other finalists, Myleen Snyder and Katie Webster were presented with $100 gift certificates.
Melanie Matero presented a check to Gail Christiancy of St Jude Children’s Research Hospital. A total of $910 was raised for this important facility.
