Jeremy Denk

Pianist in sold-out second recital

The Howland Chamber Music Circle is honored to present Jeremy Denk in a second recital of Mozart sonatas after an earlier recital there this season. Denk has changed the program slightly, so at this concert he will play the Sonata in F Major, K. 533/494, the Sonata No. 9 in D Major, K. 311, the Sonata in C minor, K.457, the Sonata in D Major, K 576 and the Adagio in B minor, K. 540.

Denk has steadily built a reputation as one of today’s most compelling and persuasive artists with an unusually broad repertoire. The New York Times expressed it this way: “Mr. Denk, clearly, is a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs, in whatever combination – both for his penetrating intellectual engagement with the music and for the generosity of his playing.”

The concert will take place on Sunday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m., at the Howland Cultural Center, 477 Main Street, Beacon, and will be followed by a reception to meet the artist.  It is currently sold-out, however there is a waiting list available. Tickets, should they become available, are $30 ($10 for students) and can be reserved by calling 845-297-9243. Visit Howland Chamber Music Circle for more details.
