Candidates can also be seen live on the web

Continuing its tradition of informing citizens before local elections, Philipstown.info on Thursday, March 8, will sponsor a candidate’s forum for contenders in the Cold Spring trustee election. Free and open to the public, the event will take place at the Philipstown.info offices, 69 Main St., Cold Spring, starting at 7:30 p.m., and last 60 to 90 minutes.

After opening remarks by Philipstown.info publisher Gordon Stewart, each candidate will make an introductory statement. Stewart will then pose questions on issues pertinent to Cold Spring for discussion among the candidates. The relaxed format is intended to encourage dialogue and does not employ a time clock or other formal practices.

Three candidates are vying for two trustee slots in the March 20 election. In alphabetical order, the candidates are Matt Francisco, an urban project manager; Charles Hustis, an incumbent trustee seeking to retain his seat; and Tom Rolston, owner of The Depot restaurant. To accommodate those unable to attend in person, Philipstown.info will provide simultaneous, live online video “streaming” of the forum.
