High velocity water used to clear debris

The Cold Spring Water Department will be conducting a hydrant flush  beginning Sunday, March 25th at 9 p.m. Each night between the hours of 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., department personnel will use high velocity water flow through hydrant outlets to scour the interior lining of water mains in an effort to remove loose debris and iron deposits which cause a majority of discoloration complaints.

During the hours of the flush, residents may experience periods of little to no water pressure, and a period of discoloration each morning thereafter. Residents are advised to run their cold water taps until clear.
