Volunteers Needed at Butterfly Garden May 5

Readying it for spring

On Saturday, May 5, there will be a community volunteering event at the Ann Odell Memorial Butterfly Garden, located just behind Hubbard Lodge off Route 9.  From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friends of Fahnestock and Hudson Highlands State Parks is hosting a volunteer event to ready the garden for spring and summer.  They are asking for helpers to assist them in cleaning up, pruning, planting, weeding and fixing —there is something for everyone.

The Ann Odell Memorial Butterfly Garden is nestled in a valley behind the historic Hubbard Lodge in Clarence Fahnestock Memorial State Park, ¼ mile north of the intersection of Route 9 and 301.

Please sign up in advance by RSVP to Paul Elconin at pastaelco@optonline.net or 914-276-2618, and come prepared with garden gloves and tools, snacks and water, and lunch if you wish to picnic afterwards.
