Santas take to streets to explore pubs and eateries
The Peekskill Business Improvement District is organizing the Santacon Pub & Eat Crawl this Saturday, Dec. 15, starting at 6 p.m. across seven pubs and eateries.
Santacon is a pub crawl where crawlers dressed as Santa (or other creative, holiday-inspired costumes) receive special discounts along the way. Santacons have become a global phenomenon, currently held in 271 locations in 37 countries, including such unlikely places as Da Nang, Vietnam; Busan, South Korea; Dubai, UAE; and Guangzhou, China. Santacon’s next stop: Downtown Peekskill.

Santacon does come with some guidelines, including coming ready to spread good cheer and making sure you celebrate responsibly by not drinking and driving. And if Santa gets tired along the way, Santacon crawlers in costume will receive a free holiday latte from the Peekskill Coffee House, 101 S. Division St.
In the spirit of giving, many downtown shops are offering 10 percent discounts with a free Peekskill Makes Me Merry coupon or button, available at the Chamber of Commerce, 1 S. Division St.
