Cold Spring updates village on success on first section of temporary line

On Tuesday, April 16, the Village of Cold Spring issued an update on the water-main lining project that the first section of bypass piping was put “online,” feeding Cedar Street and the Haldane School campus. It was a significant test, in that insufficient pressure to the school property from the bypass configuration was an issue last fall. This essentially had halted the project at North Pearl Street.

Mainlining Services, Inc. personnel have been working diligently to complete the bypass piping installation for the entire scope of the project through to the Metro-North Railroad tracks. That having been said, in order to work efficiently below the 9D intersection:

There will be no parking on the north side of Main Street, from Route 9D to Depot Square, on Thursday, April 18, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The crew will be working from the bottom of Main Street uphill toward the intersection with Route 9D. As installation is completed, workers will incrementally remove the restriction on parking. It is hoped that the majority of parking will be re-established by mid-afternoon.
