The Cold Spring Village Water Department will conduct a hydrant flush for the distribution system for several days beginning Sunday, Oct. 20. The flushing will occur between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. and should be completed by Friday morning, Oct. 25.
During the hours of the flush, residents may notice little or no water pressure; they may likewise see discoloration when service is restored. The village advises them to run their cold water tap until clear.
Also, commercial sprinkler system operators have received permission to perform annual certification flow testing between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21. This testing may also cause a brief period of discoloration in some areas.
