For the past 27 years, readers of Hudson Valley Magazine have voted for their favorite restaurants and retailers for its annual Best of Hudson Valley feature. Editors also select favorites.
This year the editors chose Moo Moo’s Creamery, Cold Spring, as the best “upscale ice-cream experience,” the brown-bag lunches at Hudson Hil’s, Cold Spring, as the best “motivation to climb Breakneck Ridge” and Vintage Beacon as the best new vintage shop.
In an online vote, readers selected Riverview in Cold Spring as the best Putnam County restaurant (as they did in 2008, 2009 and 2012), The Garrison as the best restaurant with a view, Living Yoga in Cold Spring as the best yoga center, Boscobel as the best place for a picnic, the Beacon Barkery as the best pet store, Dia:Beacon as one of the best museums, Isamu in Beacon as the best Japanese/sushi restaurant for the second year in a row, Mount Beacon as providing the best scenic hike and The Roundhouse at Beacon Falls as offering the best French fry fun, with its shoestring fries with smoked gouda, lemon zest and roasted garlic.
