The Howland Chamber Music Circle welcomes the Daedalus String Quartet with guest artist Soyeon Kate Lee, piano, a favorite of its audience since their first appearance there in 2003.

In the 11 years of its existence the quartet has received plaudits from critics and listeners alike for the security, technical finish, interpretive unity and sheer gusto of its performances.

Lee, first-prize winner of the prestigious 2010 Naumburg International Piano Competition, is prized as a soloist in recital and with orchestras, and is also a treasured collaborator with chamber music ensembles.

The Daedalus Quartet has chosen to play Five Pieces for String Quartet by Erwin Schulhoff, and the String Quartet No. 3 in D Major, Op. 34 by Erich Wolfgang Korngold. They will by joined by Lee in the Quintet for Piano and String in E-flat Major, Op. 44 by Robert Schumann.

The concert takes place at 4 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 10, at the Howland Cultural Center, 477 Main St., Beacon, followed by a reception to meet the artists. For tickets, which are $30 ($10 for students), call 845-297-9243 or visit howlandmusic.org.
