Richard A. Nobile, a 62-year resident of Cold Spring, passed away at his home on Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013, following a long bout with cancer. He was 76.

Born Sept. 11, 1937, in New York City, he was the son of the late Anthony and Linda (Cella) Nobile.

Mr. Nobile retired in 1992 as a systems analyst for IBM in Poughkeepsie, having worked there for 37 years. He was a member of the IBM Quarter Century Club, parishioner of Our Lady of Loretto Church in Cold Spring, and also an avid New York Giants fan and loved playing slots in Atlantic City.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 54 years, Ginny (Kosieja) Nobile. They were married Sept. 5, 1959, at Our Lady of Loretto Church. He is also survived by two sons, Richard Nobile and Jeffrey Nobile, both of Nelsonville, one sister and brother-in-law, Linda (Nobile) and Pete Williams of Cold Spring, one sister-in-law, Evelyn Gencen of Florida, several nieces and two great nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, at the Clinton Funeral Home, 21 Parrott Street (Corner of Parrott and Pine Streets) followed by interment in Cold Spring Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 8. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mr. Nobile’s name to VNA & Hospice Care Foundation of Hudson Valley, 540 White Plains Road, Suite 300, Tarrytown, NY 10591-5132 or St Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
