It might even make you laugh, cry, think, feel, and get inspired.

poemlogoPhilipstown.info invites you to nominate yourself as a participant in its celebration of April as National Poetry Month.

Each day in April, our site will feature a new video of a community member reading or reciting a favorite poem, original or borrowed.

To be considered, please send an email to [email protected] with your name, address, phone, the text of the poem
you’ve chosen, and a brief description of your connection
to Philipstown or Beacon.

We will contact you to arrange the taping.

Our goal is to represent Philipstown and Beacon people and poetry as broadly as possible, but we have a limited number of days and therefore may not be able to include everyone.

“One Poem a Day Won’t Kill You” is a concept borrowed
from KRBD Radio Station in Ketchikan, Alaska, which has made this an annual tradition for nearly 20 years.

Behind The Story

Type: News

News: Based on facts, either observed and verified directly by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources.

Articles attributed to "staff" are written by the editor or a senior editor. This is typically because they are brief items based on a single source, such as a press release, or there are multiple contributors, such as a collection of photos.
