Book lovers and bargain hunters take note. The Friends of the Kent Library Annual Giant Book Sale returns Saturday May 24, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday May 25, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The annual event takes place at the Kent Town Hall (adjacent to the library) in the Kent Town Center off Route 52. Admission is free. Early bird preview is 8:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday, May 24. (Members free or $10 donation.)

Books are reasonably priced: hardcovers $2 each or 3 for $5; oversize paperbacks, $1 each; most children’s books $1 or less. On Sunday after 2 p.m., book prices will be slashed to $3 a bag. The sale will feature titles from every genre — romance, mystery, science fiction, art, cooking, gardening, military history and sports, to name a few. The extensive collection of children’s books will appeal to youngsters of all ages.

The Giant Book Sale is the Friends’ principal fundraising activity, which raises money for a variety of programs and assorted library equipment needs.
