Finding St. Anthony: A Story of Loss and Light

st-anthonyGraymoor Spiritual Life Center, a ministry of the Franciscan Friars of the Atonement, invites the community to a screening of the documentary Finding St. Anthony: A Story of Loss and Light at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24. Following the screening, producer/director Ed Roy will talk about the making of this film, and answer questions from the audience.

Shot on historic locations in Portugal and Italy, the 50-minute film focuses on the experiences of Fernando Martins de Bulhões, a 13th-century Christian, as he sought to find his spiritual direction. He is now known as the much-beloved St. Anthony of Padua by Catholics and non-Catholics alike.

Roy and the Hudson Valley-based J6 Mediaworks produced the film with the help of the Salt and Light Catholic Media Foundation, and a generous contribution from the Longo family.

Seating is on a first-come, first-served basis; advance registration available at eventbrite.findingstanthony.com. There is no charge for tickets, but a free will offering at the door to support the ministries of the friars is always welcome. Refreshments will be served after the film. The screening takes place at Graymoor Spiritual Life Center, third floor Seminar Room, 1350 Route 9, Garrison. Call 845-424-2111 or email [email protected].
