Howland Library Hosts Catskills Lecture on Aug. 6

Author highlights grand hotels

Join author Oscar Israelowitz as he presents a historical slide show and lecture of the Catskills at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 6, at the Howland Public Library. Learn about the history of the grand hotels, the famous entertainers who performed there, the railroads that made it all possible, and the Jewish farmers who first opened their homes to summer visitors.

Israelowitz’s photographic works have been exhibited at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He is a fully licensed tour guide in New York City. Visit Books will be available for sale and signing.
