Summer was not the off-season for some of the boys of the Blue Devils varsity basketball team.
For the second year, Coach Joe Virgadamo joined coaches from Millbrook, Pawling, Dover and Spackenkill High Schools to form a summer league made up of varsity players. Vacations, work and other sports commitments required scheduling as agile as the boys’ ball handling skills on the court.
Finishing the summer season 5-1, the Haldane boys captured the championship on Aug. 12 against Dover.
