Volunteers needed to prepare park for winter

Manitoga will host a family volunteer landscape day on Saturday, Nov. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Camp families and other friends of Manitoga are invited to put the summer camp area to bed for the winter. Tents must come down, there is raking to be done and repairs must be made to the Railing Bridge on the Killalemy Trail and the path groomed.

Participants also will be asked to build a bonfire for marshmallow roasting. Work gloves and lunch (and marshmallows) will be provided. Volunteers who arrive by 9 a.m. may accompany Landscape Manager Emily Phillips on a curated walk along the Killalemy Trail to the Sunset Osio for its signature view.

RSVP for all or any part of the day by emailing Phillips at emily @ russelwrightcenter.org. The volunteer landscape day program is funded in part with a gift from Carol and Raymond Krizmanic.
