Available to those who have promoted Hudson Valley
Each year, the Washington’s Headquarters State Historic Site in Newburgh presents the Martha Washington Woman of History Award to a woman who has cultivated interest and awareness of Hudson Valley history, either locally or nationally.
The recipient’s name will be added to a plaque at the site and an invitation to become part of the selection committee. She also will be expected to attend “The General’s Lady,” a Woman’s History Month program held each March, to be recognized.
