Three one-week programs stress safety, fun

Building Bridges Building Boats has opened registration for its summer day program, Rowing on the River, for students entering grades six and up. Now in its 15th year, the camp consists of three weekly sessions beginning June 27. Students will learn how to row a boat safely on the Hudson River while traveling with instructors to local destinations. Part of each day is devoted to activities such as river studies, beachcombing and exploration. The emphasis is on fun and safety.

The program operates from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day. Session 1 runs from June 27 to July 1, session 2 from July 5 to 8 and session 3 from July 18 to 22. From July 11 to 14, Building Bridges Building Boats will hold its annual river trip for students who have had at least one week of river experience.

The workshop serves as training for other Building Bridges Building Boats events throughout the year, including races, trips and festivals. For more information, visit buildingboats.org or email [email protected].
