Three tours set for April

The Putnam Highlands Audubon Society will offer three bird-watching excursions in April for adults and children ages 8 and older.

On Sunday, April 10, Pete Salmansohn will leave Foundry Cove park at 9 a.m. for a stroll along the shoreline and to the forested stream valley to look for waterfowl and songbirds. On Sunday, April 24, at 8 a.m., Perry Pitt will lead a walk through some of the mixed habitat at Hubbard Lodge off Route 9 just north of Route 301. And on Saturday, April 30, at 8 a.m., Scott Silver will search at Wing & Wing or the Castle Rock Natural Area, across Route 9D from the Highlands Country Club in Garrison.
