Maloney Appointed to West Point Board of Visitors

Congressman will serve one-year term

Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (NY-18) has been appointed to serve on the Board of Visitors of the United States Military Academy at West Point. The BOV is similar to the Boards of Trustees or Regents at other institutions and is charged with providing independent advice and recommendations regarding the Academy to the U.S. president.

The BOV makes an annual visit to West Point to evaluate the morale, discipline, curriculum, instruction, physical equipment, fiscal affairs, academic methods and other matters. The Speaker of the U.S. House has the authority to appoint nine members of Congress to serve annual terms. The president appoints five members to three-year terms.
