Team members will participate in coaching activities and practice battles at the Howland library from 5 to 7 p.m. each Thursday from June 30 to Sept. 1. The library will supply the books, T-shirts and pizza. An all-star team will be chosen to compete on Sept. 17 in the Regional Battle of the Books at Columbia Greene Community College in Hudson. The Beacon Bees were the champions in 2010, 2013 and 2015. The team is sponsored by the Friends of the Howland Public Library.
