Kathleen McDuffee

Kathleen McDuffee, 84, of Cold Spring, died on July 3, 2016. Born in England, she moved to New York in 1964. On January 6, 1973, Kathleen married her beloved William McDuffee in Manhattan.

Kathleen was the head of employee benefits for American Home Products for many years. She was a devoted wife and mother and will be deeply missed.

She is survived by her son Charles McDuffee and brother David James Verrier. Her husband William died in 1987. In 1997 she married H. James Reiche, a loving, caring companion who died in 2011.

A funeral service was held on July 9 in Dobbs Ferry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to a no-kill animal shelter or to the Alzheimer’s Association Hudson Valley Chapter at alz.org/hudsonvalley or 2 Jefferson Plaza, Suite 103, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601-4060.

Hildegarde Mola (1938-2016)

Hildegarde (Sigwart) Mola died in the Bronx on July 3, 2016, after a brief illness. Born in Manhattan on June 7, 1938, to Emil and Celia (Gund) Sigwart, she was a longtime resident of Pelham Bay, where she lived in her childhood home. After attending the Villa Maria Academy, she enrolled at SUNY–New Paltz, where she majored in art.

In 1959, she left college and received an associate’s degree from the Laboratory Institute of Merchandising and became an assistant buyer at B. Altman’s and Co. It was there she met her husband Andrew Mola, Jr.; they were married in Sept. 1962.

She is survived by her husband, sons Andrew and Christopher, a daughter-in-law, Joyce (Colon) Mola, and two granddaughters, Amanda and Gabrielle. A Mass of Christian Burial was held in Our Lady of the Assumption Church in the Bronx on July 8, with burial following at her family plot at Cold Spring Cemetery.

Stephen Michael Rose (1951-2016)

Stephen Michael Rose, 65, of Garrison, died on June 29, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 5, 1951, in Bethesda, Md., to Ronald and Rosemary (Garzia) Rose.

Stephen was a sales representative for I.F.M. Collision Center in Bedford Hills. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Rose, of Garrison and a daughter, Keli Moyik and her husband Stephen. Also surviving are his parents and two brothers, Mark Rose (wife Diana) and Bruce Rose, and a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Gary and Donna Cialfi.

A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on July 2 at the Church of St. Columbanus in Cortlandt Manor, with entombment at Rose Hills Memorial Park. Arrangements were by the Joseph F. Nardone Funeral Home in Peekskill.

Margaret S. Shenton (1924-2016)

Margaret S. Shenton, 92, of Croton-on-Hudson, died on July 2, 2016. She was born in Yonkers on February 24, 1924, the daughter of Melvin P. and Claire (Norris) Sheffer.

She is survived by her son George M. Shenton of Somers; daughter M. Susan Carroll (husband Terrence) of Murrells Inlet, S.C.; son Bruce Shenton (wife Mimi) of Cold Spring; and son Donald E. Shenton (wife Tracy) of Garrison. She was the beloved grandmother of five: John Carroll of Ossining, Robert Carroll of Poughkeepsie, the late Brian Carroll of Poughquag; Timothy Shenton of Garrison and Christopher Shenton of Garrison. Her sister, Clarissa (Tootsie) Sheffer, died in 2000.

A funeral service was held on July 7 at Asbury United Methodist Church in Croton, with burial of ashes at a later date at Bethel Cemetery in Croton. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you honor her memory with a donation to Asbury United Methodist Church, 19 Old Post Rd S., Croton-On-Hudson, NY 10520.
