As part of a 26-city tour of the U.S. and Canada, the Mehmet Polat Trio will perform in Beacon at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 9, at the Howland Cultural Center. The band is composed of Polat, who plays the ud, Pelin Basar on the ney and Victor Sams on the ngoni and hand percussion. Tickets are $20 at brownpapertickets.com.
