Concert scheduled for Sept. 11
One of India’s top sitar maestros will perform at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 11, at the Storm King Art Center in New Windsor. The performance is free with paid admission.
Ustad Ikhlaq Hussain Khan began playing the sitar at age 14, taught by his father Ustad Imdad Hussain and Ravi Shankar. He plays in the Gayaki Ang style, reproducing the precise nuance of the human voice, which is perhaps the most difficult form of playing the instrument.
