James William Booth, Sr. (1937-2016)

James William Booth, Sr., 79, of Beacon, died on Sept. 21, 2016.

Born in Peekskill on March 2, 1937, one of the 14 children of Edwin and Myrtle (Lancaster) Booth, James married Flora Marie Gaudinier on August 31, 1958. He was an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Beacon, and spent much of his time there, enjoying the company of many and always lending a helping hand.

He is survived by his son, James William Booth, Jr.; four grandchildren (James, Jennifer, Sean and Jessica) and several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Robert Booth and David Booth, and five sisters, Joan Powell, Barbara Carpenter, Margaret Tooley, Julia Ramos and Florence Rich. Four other brothers and three sisters died before him.

Services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 24, at 2 p.m. at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, 850 Wolcott Ave. in Beacon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Luke’s Church.

Madeline C. Faoro (1942-2016)

Madeline C. Faoro, 74, of Beacon, died on Sept. 10, 2016.

She was born March 23, 1942, in Summit Hill, Pa. She was employed as a supervisor at IBM in East Fishkill until her retirement in 1995. She was a member of Calvary Chapel of the Hudson Valley in Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed cooking, crocheting, quilting and reading her Bible.

On Nov. 17, 1967, in Poughkeepsie, she married Charles Paul Faoro, who survives at home. She also is survived by her daughters, Taralee Morehouse (William), Theresa Calabrese (Michael) and Edithann Faoro; siblings Rita Langevin, Anthony DiMattia, Ada Fonteneou, Helen Orach and Alfonso DiMattia Jr; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.

A memorial service was held on Sept. 17 at the Calvary Chapel of the Hudson Valley in Poughkeepsie.

William J. Innis (1979-2016)

William J. “Bill” Inness, 36, of Beacon, died on Sept. 20, 2016, at St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital in Newburgh.

Born in Yonkers on November 19, 1979 he was the son of William H. and Peggy Kelly Inness. A graduate of Beacon High School and Stony Brook University, where he earned a degree in English Literature, William worked for Sears in Poughkeepsie as a customer service representative.

He is survived by his parents, who live in Beacon, two sisters, Maryellen Inness of Beacon and Nicole Inness-Donovan (Ryan) of Poughkeepsie, a niece, Ryleigh Donovan, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, Sept. 26, at 11 a.m. at St. Joachim’s Church, 51 Leonard St., in Beacon, with interment at St. Joachim’s Cemetery.

Leona “Lee” Quick (1927-2016)

Leona “Lee” Alberti Quick, 89, of Beacon, died on Sept. 2, 2016, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. Born on August 10, 1927, in Windham, Lee was the last surviving of eight children of Elmer and Nellie (Tompkins) Alberti. She worked as a staff nurse at Beth El Hospital in Brooklyn, Margaretville Hospital in Margaretville and St. Francis Hospital in Poughkeepsie.

Lee enjoyed the occasional Stinger, along with traveling, fishing and golfing with her husband. She was a former member of Osiris Country Club in Walden and Southern Dutchess Country Club in Beacon. She was a hospice volunteer from 1996 to 2005.

Her husband, William C. Quick, died in 1998. She is survived by a daughter, Joyce Montague (Joseph) of Hopewell Junction, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).
