Plus, “Chair-ity” silent auction on Oct. 1

Gallery 66 NY will explore the haunted side of Halloween with a selection of spooky artwork from five artists opening from 6 to 9 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 7. The exhibit includes wooden skulls, funerary masks,  creepy paintings of dolls, old portraits and photographs by Lisa Scheffer, Heidi Ettinger, Galelyn Williams, Peter Cheney and Jay Friedenberg.

The exhibit continues through Oct. 30. Gallery 66 NY, at 66 Main St., is open Friday, Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Gallery 66 NY also will host a “Chair-ity” fundraiser from 7 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, featuring chairs painted by Hudson Valley artists. The chairs will be sold through a silent auction, with a portion of the proceeds donated by the artist to a charity of his or her choice.
