Asking for community feedback through survey

The Wee Play Community Project is drafting a master plan with Bryan Quinn of One Nature LLC for Memorial Park playground and looking for feedback from Beacon residents. Wee Play board members and volunteers, with support from the city, created a tot lot at the playground in 2006 and added features over the years such as shade structures, an inclusion swing and a parent and child swing.

Wee Play is asking community members to share ideas and comments about the play space online at surveymonkey.com or by picking up a paper survey at the Howland Public Library or the Beacon Recreation Department. The deadline is Jan. 31.

Quinn will use the feedback to design three potential plans to be voted on by the community in early 2017. The winning plan then be reviewed and a timeline drawn for phasing the project in over the next three to five years.

Funds for the site will be raised during Wee Play’s annual Ree Play Sale and matched by the City of Beacon. For more information, email Heidi Kitlas at [email protected] or call 646-379-1213.
