Victoria A. (Brock) Mattis (1951-2016)
Victoria Ann (Brock) Mattis, 65, of Beacon, died Dec. 17, 2016.
Vicki was born in Nashville on Jan. 5, 1951, to Al Gill and Ruth Ann Brock. She graduated from Beacon High School and attended Central City Business Institute in Syracuse where she received a degree as a legal secretary. She worked for IBM for more than 40 years before retiring.
Vicki is survived by her fiance, David Lovelace, two brothers, Ricky Brock (Patricia) and Larry Brock (Linda), a nephew, Rickey Brock, a niece, Karisa Brock, and a godson, Christian DeAngelis.
A funeral service was held on Dec. 23 at Springfield Baptist Church in Beacon, with interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
Jason Morse (1934-2016)
Jason Morse, 82, of Wappingers Falls, died Dec. 20, 2016, at home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Fishkill on June 4, 1934, the son of Jason B. and Mary (Garrison) Morse. He grew up in Beacon and attended Brockway School, Beacon High School and Dutchess Community College. He married Gloria Jean Phillips on July 4, 1954 in Hughsonville. She died in 2008.
Jason worked for many years for J&B Parsons and B&B Auto Specialists, both in Wappingers Falls, until his retirement in 1997. He was part owner of Classic Auto Body in Wappingers Falls, as well as owner, along with his wife Gloria, of J&G Automotive Consultants. He formerly held posts as court officer for both the Town of Wappinger and Village of Fishkill.
He is survived by his daughters, Cathy Chee and Cheryl Haight (John), three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and his companions, Sophia Charkalis DiRubbio.
A service was held on Dec. 23 at the Straub, Catalano & Halvey Funeral Home in Wappingers Falls, with interment at Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
Lucy G. Rogers (1917-2016)
Lucy G. Rogers, 99, a lifelong resident of Beacon, died Dec. 22, 2016.
Lucy was born in Beacon on Oct. 7, 1917, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Piacente) Mazochi. In December 1939 she married Robert A. Rogers, who died in 1984.
She worked for many years as a hat trimmer at the Dorel Hat Factory in Beacon. She also enjoyed quilting and travel.
Lucy is survived by her daughter, Karen Rogers (William Coleman); her son, Robert “Tetter” Rogers; nine grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Her son, Richard Rogers, died in 2014, and two brothers and three sisters died before her.
A graveside service was held Dec. 24 at St. Joachim Cemetery in Beacon.
