Belva DiCarolis (1920-2016)

Belva DiCarolis, 96, of Santa Clara, California, died Dec. 31, 2016. Among her survivors is a granddaughter, Jeannette DiCarolis McCormick of Cold Spring.

The Catholic Church awarded Belva the Pro Ecclesia et Pontifice Medal for distinguished service by both laypeople and clergy. It is the highest medal awarded by the Pope.

Glenn Sayres

Glenn Sayres (1961-2017)

Glenn A. Sayres, 55, of Garrison, died suddenly on Jan. 2, 2017.

Born in Cold Spring on Dec. 25, 1961, he graduated in 1980 from Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose. He worked as an information technology project manager for several companies throughout his career.

Glenn is survived by his sons, Shaun and Ryan; his daughter Amanda; his parents, William Joe and Carol J. Sayres; his siblings Gregg Sayres and Carol Gray; and his former wife and friend, Diane Sayres.

A funeral service was held on Jan. 6 at McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, with interment at Hillside Cemetery in Cortlandt Manor. Memorial donations may be made to Autism Speaks (autismspeaks.org).
