Burgos set a personal record in the 55-meter hurdles (8.29 seconds) on Jan. 28 in the preliminaries of the Northern County Championships at The Armory in New York City before winning the final in 8.33. “From just learning to hurdle last winter to being the county champion this season is a tremendous jump,” says Coach Jim Henry. “He is ranked No. 9 in Section 1 and just broke into the top 100 hurdlers in New York State.”
