Gallery openings planned for March 11

CoMFY Returns to Library

The Howland Public Library will open the third annual group exhibit by the women’s collective CoMFY with a reception from 5 to 7 p.m.

Members of CoMFY (which stands for Creatives, Mamas, Friends and Yahoos) were asked to interpret the expression, “A Common Thread,” or how individuals are connected through their experiences as women. The theme is also a reference to the traditional decorative arts and handcrafts historically associated with women, such as sewing, knitting, embroidery and weaving.

The exhibit will be on view Saturdays and Sundays from noon to 5 p.m.
