Bouts scheduled for March 22 at Free Academy
The Golden Gloves amateur boxing tournament will be make a stop in the Highlands on Wednesday, March 22, at the Newburgh Free Academy with 12 bouts on the card, including two featuring female boxers and another with Newburgh’s Marquis Williams, who in 2016 narrowly missed qualifying for the U.S. Olympic Team.
The New York Golden Gloves championship rounds will begin at 7 p.m. at the school, which is located at 201 Fullerton Ave. The Newburgh Hook Elite Boxing Club will host the New York Daily News-sponsored event.
Tickets range from $25 (general admission) to $32.50 (ringside) and are available at the door.
