An ink-on-wax work by Alexandra Eastburn

Eastburn’s scroll paintings are done on waxed butcher paper foraged in and near her neighborhood. The artist, who lives in Memphis and has a bachelor’s in fine arts from the Memphis College of Art, is a member of the all-girl punk band Nots and an artist in residence at a Los Angeles gallery called PANEL.

The gallery, at 23 Garrison’s Landing, also will open an exhibit by Charles McGill, Temporal Presence, in which he explores the way in which things are perceived using deconstructed vintage golf bags. The gallery is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday.
