Brooklyn woman detained after traffic stop

Cold Spring police arrested a Brooklyn woman on March 27 after she was stopped for speeding on Route 9D and the officer allegedly found her in possession of marijuana and cocaine.

The officer stopped the vehicle and at about 11:15 p.m. and learned from computer records that the driver, Davina Stewart, 31, was wanted on a warrant out of New York City. She was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors, as well as speeding. Stewart was arraigned in Cold Spring Village Court and sent to the Putnam County Jail on $1,500 cash or $3,000 bond.
