Charles Curtin (1934-2017)

Charles Raymond “Charley” Curtin, 82, a longtime Beacon resident, died at his home on May 14, 2017, surrounded by his family.

Charley was born in Yonkers on June 25, 1934, to Charles and Alice (Doerner) Curtin. On Nov. 14, 1959, in Yonkers, he married Theresa (Terrie) Cetnarowicz, who survives at home.

Charley was a U.S. Army veteran who served in Korea and a member and master electrician for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 501/Local 3, where he worked for 34 years before his retirement.

He was a parishioner of St. Joachim-St. John the Evangelist Church and a member of Trinity Council, Knights of Columbus, Beacon.

In addition to his wife of 58 years, Charley is survived by his children: Chuck Curtin (Laura) of Monument, Colorado, Bob Curtin (Judy) of Beacon, Diane Goodall and her partner Michael Tancredi of Beacon, and Michael Curtin of Pleasant Valley. He also is survived by his grandchildren, Michael and Brian Goodall and Colleen and Sean Curtin; his brothers, Roger Curtin and Kenneth Curtin (Shannon); and his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lorraine and Jimmy White.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 18 at St. John the Evangelist Church, with interment with military honors at St. Joseph’s Cemetery in Yonkers. Rodney McNair

Rodney McNair (1969-2017)

Rodney Louis McNair, 47, of Port Jervis, died May 12, 2017 at his home. Born Oct. 14, 1969 in Beacon, he was the son of Robert Sr. and Gloria McNair.

He is survived by his companion, Jennifer; his children, Janell and Jeffrey McNair, Jarod and Jarell McNair and their mother Latisha Robinson, all of Newburgh; his father, Robert McNair Sr. (Pop), his brothers, Robert McNair Jr. (Womp), James McNair (Mac), Terrance Alan McNair (Susan), Curtis McNair, Craig McNair and his sister Gloria McNair (Mimi), all of Beacon and Poughkeepsie. He also is survived by two grandchildren, Eli and Myles.

Services were held May 19 at Libby Funeral Home in Beacon.

Beryl Steinard (1933-2017)

Beryl A. Steinard, 83, a lifelong Beacon resident, died May 19, 2017, at her home.
Born Sept. 4, 1933, in Beacon, Beryl was the daughter of Joseph and Beryl (Betterton) Pennucci. She married Leroy Steinard, who died in 2000. She worked at the Matteawan Correctional Facility in Beacon.

Beryl is survived by her daughter, Catherine Steinard; her grandchildren, Samantha Bailey and Josh Bailey; and her sister, Dolores Marano.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held May 25 at St. Joachim Church in Beacon, with burial at St. Joachim Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the family.
