Selected incidents from June 28 to July 13

Officers responded to 653 calls, including 16 auto crashes and 12 domestic incidents.

Wednesday, June 28

5:50 a.m. – Luz Mercado, 30, of Beacon was charged with violation of a court order.

5:45 p.m. – A caller on Main Street reported items stolen from business.

Thursday, June 29

1:30 a.m. – Christina Arrigo, 20, of Pleasant Valley was picked up and processed on three warrants.

4:40 p.m. – Jason Bohlig, 38, of Lagrange was picked up on an active warrant and charged with criminal mischief, possession of marijuana and resisting arrest.

8 p.m. – Fa Tuan Ni, 49, of Beacon was charged with assault.

11 p.m. – After a traffic stop, Cody Telford, 24, of Wappingers Falls was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, possession of marijuana, consumption of alcoholic beverages and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

Friday, June 30

1 a.m. – After an auto crash on Cross Street, Robert Oberle, 23, of Beacon was charged with driving while intoxicated and  leaving the scene of an auto accident.

7:45 a.m. – Carlton Prescott, 40, of Newburgh was picked up and processed on an active warrant.

Saturday, July 1

8:50 a.m. – Caller on South Avenue reported DeWalt tool bag with cordless drill and accessories were stolen from vehicle.

12:10 p.m. – Ryan Manzi, 25, was charged with open container and possession of marijuana.

Sunday, July 2

11:45 a.m. – Caller on Hudson Avenue reported items missing from vehicle.

6:30 p.m. – Lonnie Spearman, 37, of Newburgh was picked up on three active warrants out of Newburgh.

Monday, July 3

2:10 p.m. – Caller on Main Street reported damage to business.

Tuesday, July 4

11:30 a.m. – Neighbor dispute on South Cedar Street.

11:30 a.m. – Caller on West Willow Street reported large rock thrown at residence and shattered window.

7:20 p.m. – Steven Shackleford, 34, of Beacon was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.

Wednesday, July 5

12:35 a.m. – After a traffic stop on Rock Hill Road, Jarell Brown, 24, of Wappingers Falls was charged with possession of marijuana and failure to stop at a stop sign.

9:30 a.m. – Rebecca Motter, 35, of Beacon was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of stolen property and petit larceny.

10:45 a.m. – Assisted with fire call at 40 North St. According to the Beacon Fire Department, it responded to a report of a roof on fire. Construction workers were using propane torches to burn off paint on the roof’s soffits and accidentally started the fire. Fire damage was contained to the roof and soffits with minor water damage to the first and second floors.

Friday, July 7

7:15 a.m. – Caller on Grove Street reported black Mongoose bicycle was stolen from driveway.

5:30 p.m. – Caller to headquarters reported threatening messages. Both parties advised.

8:30 p.m. – Caller to headquarters reported clothing stolen from Laundromat.

Saturday, July 8

3 a.m. – After a traffic stop on Fishkill Avenue, Charles Wilson, 34, of Beacon was charged with driving while intoxicated, refusal of prescreen and failure to signal a turn.

12:15 p.m. – After a traffic stop on Main Street, Adam Jolly, 33, of Beacon was charged with possession of marijuana, not wearing a seatbelt and failure to signal a turn.

6 p.m. – Caller to headquarters reported threatening text messages. Both parties advised.

11:30 p.m. – After a traffic stop on Main Street, Lasif Woods, 27, of Poughkeepsie was charged with false personation and possession of marijuana. He also was picked up on an active warrant for violation of parole.

Sunday, July 9

12:10 p.m. – Caller to headquarters to report receiving numerous bad checks.

2 p.m. – Caller to headquarters reported an assault.

10:15 p.m. – Caller to headquarters reported threatening emails. Both parties advised.

Wednesday, July 12

12:20 a.m. – An assault was reported on Main Street.

9:30 a.m. – Shanice Sgorbissa, 23, of Ellenville was processed on a warrant.

10:30 a.m. – Ryan Manzi, 25, was picked up and processed on an active warrant.  He was also charged with attempted assault and resisting arrest.

8:30 p.m. – Caller on Tompkins Terrace reported package stolen from porch.

Thursday, July 13

2:10 a.m. – After a traffic stop on DeWindt Street, Cameron Cantres, 18, of Middletown was charged with open container in vehicle, possession of marijuana and failure to signal a turn. [Cantres was later granted an adjournment in contemplation of dismissal on all three charges.]

8:30 a.m. – Caller on Mountain Avenue reported 30-foot extension ladder stolen from property.

10:30 a.m. – Caller to headquarters reported cell phone stolen.
