Michael Barrett

Michael Barrett (1963-2017)

Michael J. Barrett, 53, of Beacon, died suddenly, with his family by his side, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

Born on Sept. 20, 1963, in Cold Spring, he was the son of Daniel W. and Esther (O’Dell) Barrett. He was a retired driver for Letchworth Village in Thiells.

Survivors include two brothers, Daniel Barrett (Patricia) of Bullgap, Tennessee, and William Barrett of Beacon; a sister, Jean Cohen (Allen) of Poughkeepsie; and two nephews, Mark Cohen and Brian Cohen (Megan).

Visitation will be held July 31 from 4 to 7 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home, 55 Teller Ave., in Beacon. A funeral service will be held Aug. 1 at 11 a.m. at Libby Funeral Home with interment to follow in Cold Spring Cemetery.

Pauletta Mayen (1936-2017)

Pauletta Mayen, 81, of Beacon, died July 24, 2017, at Elant at Fishkill.

She was born Jan. 2, 1936 in Castellabate, Italy, the daughter of Francesco and Alfonsina (Benincasa) Montone. She married Robert Mayen, who died before her.

Prior to her retirement, Pauletta worked as a seamstress for several clothing manufacturing companies in Beacon. She was a parishioner of St. John’s Church in Beacon and a member of the St. Rocco’s Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Keeler (Michael) of Beacon; her siblings Costabile Montone, Etalo Montone, Bruna DiLuccia and Gina Pascale, all of Italy; and her grandson Daniel Keeler of Beacon. Five other siblings died before her.

A funeral service was held on July 29 at the Halvey Funeral Home in Beacon, with interment at St. Joachim’s Cemetery.

Rhonda Schiller

Rhonda Schiller (1959-2017)

Rhonda L. Schiller, 58, died July 29, 2017, at home, surrounded by her family.

Born Apr. 15, 1959, in Cold Spring, she was the daughter of Thomas P. White and Barbara Brilliant Cleary.

Rhonda was a retired correctional officer who worked for 33 years at Fishkill Correctional Facility.

Her survivors include her companion, Donald Wallace of Beacon; her mother, Barbara Brilliant Cleary of Staatsburg; two brothers, Scott White of Kerhonkson, and Paul White (Linda) of Honesdale, Pennsylvania; a nephew, Justin White; two nieces, Courtney White and Anna Ingulli; an uncle, Hal Brilliant; and her cousins Missy Cuppola (Vincent); and Rebecca Fusaro (Rob).

Visitation will be held Aug. 3 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Libby Funeral Home, 55 Teller Ave., in Beacon. Memorial contributions may be made to an animal shelter or sanctuary.
