Ann Koehler (1923-2017)

Anna J. “Ann” Koehler, 94, of New Milford, Connecticut, died at her home on Dec. 21, 2017.

Ann was born Nov. 19, 1923, in Beacon, one of the seven children of Alexander and Mary (Burak) Dziminowicz. She moved to Danbury, Connecticut, with her family after graduating from high school.

She married Harold Koehler and moved to New Milford. She worked for National Biscuit Co. in Beacon and later at the Barden Corporation in Danbury as a quality control chemist. Once retired, Ann enjoyed going to the senior center to play cards and bingo, or out to dinner or breakfast after church. Knitting was her passion. Every child born into the family received a hat and sweater.

Ann is survived by her brothers, Alec Dziminowicz of Poughkeepsie and John Dziminowicz of Fox Fire Village, North Carolina.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford on Dec. 29 at 1 p.m. The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home at 87 Park Lane Road that same day 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.

Joe Perez

Joe Perez (1951-2017)

Joseph Domingo Perez, 66, of Milton, and formerly of Beacon, died Dec. 19, 2017, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie.

He was born Nov. 2, 1951, in Newburgh, to Joseph and Rose (Aleo) Perez of Beacon. His wife, Ada Perez, survives at home.

Joe was a general mechanic in the motor pool at Fishkill Correctional Facility in Beacon. He was a wonderful man who had a great sense of humor and loved life. There wasn’t a place we went to that someone didn’t recognize him and approached him to talk. He loved his family and most of his friends became family. He was loyal and so very talented.

In addition to his wife and mother, Joseph is survived by his sons Joseph Perez and Keith Perez; his daughter Aschley M. Perez; his grandchildren: Joseph, Ella and Jaidyn; and his brother, Michael Perez.

A memorial visitation will be held Dec. 28 at Solid Rock Church in New Windsor. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org).

Theresa Wimmer (1942-2017)

Theresa Wimmer, 75, a longtime resident of Beacon died, Dec. 22, 2017. She was born Jan. 25, 1942, the daughter of John and Maria Wimmer.

She is survived by a sister, Marie Lukert. A private burial took place at Washington Memorial Park in Mt. Sinai.
